Hello Retired Teachers,

I am Heather Doran, the Volunteer and Events Coordinator at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Myron, our Executive Director suggested I contact you about your newsletter (website).

I am not sure whether this fits with the requests for volunteers you run in your newsletter, but former teachers would make wonderful In-school Mentors and Bigs, and we are always looking for event volunteers too.

You can make a “Big” difference with Big Brothers Big Sisters PEI

What if you could transform the life of a child just by being a friend? Whether “Bigs” and “Littles” are hanging out, talking, or doing something fun, they are making a difference in each others’ lives. In-school Mentors spend an hour a week at school having fun with a child. Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Big Couples spend 2 to 4 hours a week with a child, doing things friends do. Can’t currently make a weekly commitment? We also need administrative and fundraising volunteers on a more casual basis. For more information,
