Here is a further update to members of the PEIRTA regarding the upcoming Vogue Optical Provincial 55+ Winter Games scheduled for the Cornwall area from March 2-6, 2009. Those of you in attendance at the annual meeting in Summerside in November received initial notice.
The games include 18 different events from hockey, xc skiing and curling to more recreational activities such as bridge, cribbage and crokinole. Competition ends with a banquet at The APM Center in Cornwall on Friday afternoon, March 6.
Between 500-600 Island seniors have been participating in recent versions of the 55+ Games and we are hoping for a good representation from across the province. Registration forms are being mailed this week to 700 previous participants, and registration forms can also be obtained through the Cornwall Town Office at (628-6260) or at the 55+ Society Office at 40 Enman Crescent.(368-4208).
