Carol Baird-Krul and Enise Olding write a column on "retirement" in the magazine Canadian Teacher Magazine. They are interested (and so are we Bill Oehlke, PEIRTA webmaster) in hearing about your volunteer service projects, either on an individual or group basis.

Here is the email letter they sent to President MacAulay.

Hello,

We write a column on retirement for Canadian Teacher Magazine which is sent out to schools across Canada five times a year. We got your contact information from the Canadian Association of Retired Teachers’ website.

Currently we are in the process of mapping out articles for next year and our hope is to do the series on activities in which Canadian RTA’s are involved. These programs could, as an example, be an RTA group working with a local literacy program, or a heritage group that is involved with a university’s education students, or an RTA group working to support day care for young mothers’ returning to school. Large or small we would be interested in learning about the activities of RTA groups throughout Canada.

It is our hope that you will let your local RTA groups know that we are interested in hearing from them about projects of note. Our deadline date to receive information from them would be May 1st, 2011.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.
